What makes your spin practice unique? How long have you been doing it? Do you remember your first ride? How does spin fit into your other fitness practices? What changed in your other activities after you started to spin? If you'd like to share your answers to these questions and more, contact Jo Novelli at fhr.spin@gmail.com, she wants to hear from you.

My first spin was Saturday, July 1st, 2006 with Carol. Diane had been spinning for about 10 months and I had begun treadmilling @ the Y on Memorial Day and walking the Bridle Path after essentially doing nothing too strenuous for 35 years. I made it thru the class and didn't collapse until I got home, totally useless the rest of the day. But I went out and bought shorts and shoes and was back for classes that following week. I did Nicole's 7:45 the following Saturday and I have been going 2-3x/week ever since.
I had decided to sign up for the fall 12 week challenge that started in August when Diane asked me to go the intro meeting for the triathlon training since she was going to be out of town. At the end of the meeting, I told Alisa, "I'm in." The next thing I knew I was working out 8x/week. I couldn't run 200 yards, could barely swim 25 yards and didn't have a bike.
I've lost 30 lb., swim 2000 yards 2-3x/week with a Masters group in Scottsdale, run 4-5miles 3-4x/week (slowly building distance) and have started riding 40-50miles once a week as well as spinning 2-3x/week when I can. And Margene has started dragging my ass up Squaw Peak in 110degree heat a couple of times a week.
Diane and I have met a great group of friends thru Foothills. And I cannot emphasize enough how much I appreciate the support of Jody, Alisa, Nicole, Erin and Itamar.
